Valentine's Day activity for kids : Let's make chocolate playdough

Yum! Tasty chocolate! Chocolates are a must around Valentine's Day!

I wanted to help my brother, Crafty the Chef, make chocolate... But it was a disaster!

Making chocolate is harder than you might think. It's much easier to eat it. I want to make lots of tasty treats too!

So I found this great recipe for chocolate playdough. I won't be able to eat it, but at least I can pretend to be a baker!

Follow the recipe to become a pro candy maker too!

INGREDIENTS

                                        - 2 cups of flour                             - ½ cup of cocoa powder

                                        - 2 cups of boiling water                 - 1 cup of salt

                                        - 2 tablespoons of oil                      - 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar*

(*Cream of tartar looks like flour. You'll find it in your grocery store's spices section)

STEP 3

Knead your dough with your hands. Be careful: it might be hot!

Add flour if the dough is too soft, or oil if the dough is too dry.

STEP 4

Once you have the consistency of playdough, you can start using it.

You'll need a sealed container to store it.

HAVE FUN!

You can pretend to bake or make candies! Have fun!

*This playdough is not toxic or bad for your health. But it does NOT taste good! So I recommend you just play pretend.
